 STRATTON-CRAWLEY, Richard (Dr) - The family announces with sorrow his death, Monday, August 30, 2010 at his home in Burlington, Ontario, at the age of 57. Son of Roy Crawley of Warwickshire, England and Jeanne Medlin (predeceased), Richard (Ric) leaves behind his wife and soul mate of 19 years, Gina, with whom he shared a true love and companionship, as well as a passion for the arts, music, travel, and entertaining. He also leaves behind his beloved children Jonathan (at home), Sarah (husband Josh Dinges) of Lawrence, Kansas, and James of Edmonton, Alberta, and his stepchildren, Sandra and Mikael Gauthier, London, Ontario, as well as his beloved Gaa. He will be sadly missed by his sister Susan (husband Patrick McClaughry), of Berkshire, England, as well as his sisters-and-brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews, and many close friends and relatives. Throughout his 28-year career with Inco Limited, he held various management positions and was appointed Chief Operating Officer for the Goro Project prior to his retirement in 2006. His career brought him to travel the world and to expand on his wealth of knowledge on world affairs. Throughout his life, Ric shared this thirst for knowledge on world affairs with those around him, especially with his children in whom he fostered the same passion. Ric's well-lived life will be celebrated at a service in his honour on Saturday, September 4, 2010, at 11 a.m. at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line, Burlington, Ontario (905-632-3333) The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. www.smithsfh.com
