Despite drawing first blood in Game 2 on March 25, the Sudbury Wolves dropped the second game in the best of seven series against the Brampton Battalion.

The Wolves have lost two straight in the eastern conference quarterfinals series.

The physical play continued into Game 2 and it was a tight contest; however, the Battalion came away with the 4-2 win to take a 2-0 series lead, according to the Wolves' webpage.

The Sudbury Wolves opened the scoring late in the first period with Josh Leivo netting his first goal of the playoffs, with help from Josh McFadden and Brody Silk.

The Battalion tied the game in the opening minute of the second frame on the power play with a goal from Philip Lane. At the 8:19 mark, the Battalion grabbed the 2-1 lead, once again on the power play, with a goal from Sam Carrick.

The Wolves kept pressing early in the third period and were able to tie up the contest 2-2 on a goal from rookie Nathan Pancel, with help from Charlie Dodero.

The Battalion responded shortly after with Lane scoring his second of the game to give the Battalion the lead once again.

The Wolves pulled netminder Johan Mattsson in the late stages of the game for an extra attacker, but it was for not as Lane scored his hat-trick into the empty net to give the Battalion the 4-2 win.

The series now shifts back to Sudbury on March 27 and March 28, where the Pack will look to even up the series. Tickets are available by calling the Sudbury Arena box office at 705-671-3000 or purchase them online at www.greatersudbury.ca.
