Two senior citizens are currently in hospital with serious injuries following what Greater Sudbury Police deemed a serious incident in Azilda on Saturday.
The police investigation revealed an 88-year-old man assaulted a 79-year-old female in the early morning hours.
In a press release Saturday, police said they had responded to a “serious incident” and had a suspect in custody.
Charges are pending against the 88-year-old man.
Police said they consider the matter to be an isolated incident. There is no further risk to public safety, they said.
