On top of winning the national championship, Zeeman was named the Canadian University Rowing Female Athlete of the Year. The gold marks the team's first national championship medal.

The team has wrapped up the 2011 season but Zeeman will be on the water at least one more time as she competes in the National Rowing Championships against the top rowers in the country, including many who will be in London at the next Olympics. The regatta is Nov. 11-13 in Welland.
